Department of Defence and federal accounts are key customer base for many storage systems. IBM Spectrum Scale is signing up a DOU with IBM ISV for being it's MFA partner and has DOD presence. The account team has brought up a request stating that the DOD will not accept MFA solutions until it supports CAC cards (which are used by all federal employee) being one of the MFA factor.
In order for IBM Storage to position itself or sustain it's accounts with DOD/Federal customers IBM ISV need to support CAC cards or have Fedramp compatible solution which are replacement to CAC based multi factor auth. Without this support getting IBM ISV as MFA played in DOD/federal account is uphill or not possible.
Competitors like Duo also have some kind of solution for this : https://duo.com/blog/mobile-liberation-federal-gov-piv-cac-cards

Also, someone from ISAM or Security Verify needs to contact the author of the document (email given below) to have IBM ISAM OR Security Verify included else positioning IBM MFA in federal is an uphill: https://media.defense.gov/2020/Sep/22/2002502665/-1/-1/0/CSI_MULTIFACTOR_AUTHENTICATION_SOLUTIONS_UOO17091520.PDF
